The most widely traveled member of the group, Fredrik Hesselvik was born in Uppsala, Sweden, but has lived in Egypt, Switzerland, Denmark, Tunisia and the United States. A guitarist as well as a singer, his background in a wide range of international folk and popular music has enriched Stämbandet since 1995.

A native of Connecticut, Peter Keppelman joined Stämbandet in 1979, soon after its founding by his wife Eva. His musical life has been a rich one, ranging from folk to blues to rock, and from vocals to guitar to drums. Fortunately for Stämbandet, Peter's abiding love for folk music has made his resonant voice one of the mainstays of the group's signature sound.
