ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Allen LeVines, a native of Virginia, began as Stämbandet's director in 1985. He has held more than a dozen posts with a variety of vocal ensembles, three of which he founded. In 1994 he traveled throughout Dalarna, Sweden researching the connection between traditional vocal, instrumental and dance music. Fascinated by beautiful music in any form, Allen is a dedicated interpreter of the entire stylistic spectrum of Stämbandet's Scandinavian repertoire.
