Bisse Magnusson grew up in Jönköping, Sweden surrounded by a family who loved a wide variety of music including cabaret, opera, and Russian choral music. A true contralto with more than 30 years of vocal ensemble experience in both Sweden and the United States, Bisse is also Stämbandet's principal translator. She has been a member of the group since 1979.

Originally form Stockholm, Sweden, Gunnar Sievert cannot remember life without singing, naming his father as his earliest and most important musical influence. His experiences vary greatly, ranging from choral singing to rock & roll. Gunnar joined Stambandet in the fall of 2000.
